Play for Change is a cross-disciplinary design, research, development and assessment game lab hosted by the College of Computing and Digital Media. We make and evaluate games, interactive documentaries and transmedia projects that aim to promote personal and social change. Our work builds bridges between students and faculty, academia and industry, producers and users, and different departments within DePaul.
We embrace diversity and inclusive design that adopts participatory methods. We leverage the power of play and various media to engage, raise awareness, foster learning and transform people’s lives.
Core faculty include Doris C. Rusch (Play for Change creative director, Game Design), Anuradha Rana (Documentary Filmmaking), Cynthia Putnam (HCI), Nichole Pinkard (Interactive Media / HCI / Education), Mischa Hiessboeck (Digital Interactive Storytelling), and Mona Shattell and Barbara Harris (School of Nursing).
The Play 4 Change Lab is actively seeking donors, industry partners and collaborators to help support its ongoing work. For more information or to schedule a meeting to explore potential partnership opportunities, please contact the Office of Corporate Relations at CorporateRelations@depaul.edu.
